So, I’ve been trying to keep up with Twitter lately, and keep tweeting, but I don't know if I can anymore.
It feels like an obligation, and totally transactional.
I'm too scared to delete it entirely since it seems useful for promoting work stuff, but that makes me feel really shitty. I don't want to support that idiot. Sigh.
@parisba the big thing for me has been the removal of 2fa unless you pay - basically makes it dangerous if you have a big following or use it for business and don’t pay. I haven’t been using it, but to me that means it’s concerning to just leave it idle like I was.
@bnut my App-based 2FA still works afaik, but yeah — i just feel shitty supporting it, in any way, and don't want to. but also we kinda need it, sigh.

@parisba FWIW I’ve seen multi people who “need Twitter for work” but don’t otherwise want to be there pin a status saying they’re only checking once a week, for work things, and then otherwise ignore it.
I suspect at this point you get 90% of the promo benefit by just doing weekly / “thing to announce” posts; the “build an audience by regular usage” days of Twitter seem pretty over now.
