Hello and friends, this one is literally for you!

Debug is a brand new high quality print magazine focused entirely on indie games, from solo devs right up to the so called triple-i studios.

Got something you’re working on and want to share? https://www.teamdebug.com and let us know!

Please share to help spread awareness amongst the developer community. We love you 💜

@danielcrocker @MossRC Lunark on the cover! Playing that at the moment 😀

@RobeeShepherd @danielcrocker What do you think of it so far? I didn't realise it was out yet; been curious about it since I saw a gameplay teaser last year.

@MossRC @danielcrocker it’s really well made, artwork and animation is fab, I’m up to level 12 (think there is 14?) and my only complaints are it’s not clear where the last autosave was, and the frustration of missing a jump. It’s a great homage to games of old like Flashback.

@danielcrocker I enjoyed the first issue. You did cover quite a few games, most of which I hadn't heard of. Still, all but a few were on the more glossy and professional side of indie. I would have liked to see a few more DIY/hobbyist-level projects, but I understand if that's not your focus. I'd also love to see more RPGs covered in the next issue.

@midnightspire Thank you for the feedback. We wanted to try and create as much balance as possible, and ultimately showcase the games which we think people will want to play. Over time readers will give us their feedback and we can adjust the type of games we cover accordingly.

@danielcrocker Wonderful, ordered.

Some suggestions:

- Offer page samples in a PDF for each issue, makes the purchase more confident
- Make a mastodon acc! and put it on the site
- Set up a matrix bridge with discord if possible, discord is proprietary and might discourage a few people from joining

@epilys Excellent suggestions, thank you. I will set up a Mastodon account for the magazine today.

@danielcrocker
Nice! I really miss Wireframe Magazine for the insight into the dev process and its focus on indies. I've picked up the PDF of issue#1 and wish you all the best. What's your publishing schedule? Are you looking at monthly, bi monthly, or longer? I notice you're not offering subscriptions yet - is that a plan for the future?

@danielcrocker
OK, so having now read the magazine, it's answered my "schedule" question - it's a quarterly!
Small point though - where you've got QR codes for linking out to resources, please can you make them actual links in the PDF?

@voxdumnonia Thanks for the feedback, all very valid. We will look into making the PDF interactive. The team are all from a 90s print background so lots of learning on the job to create something for modern audiences!

@danielcrocker how to get a copy? Your site is down

@triptych The site was down for about two minutes, to my knowledge. Is it ok for you now?

@danielcrocker very cool! Do you cover very small, casual games?

@swarmy Absolutely. We cover 100+ games every issue, and many of those are small casual games made by one person. We even have a “free play” section for the tiniest ones.

@danielcrocker How come you don't offer payment with Paypal? I don't really know any of those other gateways

@abban Working on it. We only launched a month ago, and it’s just me on the tech / financial / admin side at the moment.

@danielcrocker Hi! I was able to order a print copy and subscribe! Thanks!

@triptych Thank you for the support! ❤️

@danielcrocker Ok! I'm reading the first issue now! Perhaps Nucleo would fit!

@swarmy Definitely fire an email over to our editor Dean when you get a spare moment: https://www.teamdebug.com/contact
