Spent tonight playing Cosmic Osmo by Cyan, the creators of Myst, with my 5-year old tonight and we really like it. It controls in a similar way to Myst, first-person node-based navigation, but the game is focused entirely on exploration with no win condition or way to complete the game. You just explore, clicking on everything to see what happens, and occasionally stumble across mini games. It's just a lot of fun exploring the surreal world created by Cyan and I really like the B&W art

@MichaelKlamerus this looks so cool.

@hache before Cyan made Myst, they made 3 children’s games in HyperCard where you just explore a world and click on stuff. They’re really neat

@MichaelKlamerus I played Mist in the early 2000's. Is this a newer one?

@AlaskaBecks this came out before that game, in 1990

@MichaelKlamerus Maybe I played on the 90's. I'm old and lose track of time 🤣 It was one of the first game I played on a PC. I thought it was beautiful. Shortly after I got Morrowind. I lived in that game for years.

@MichaelKlamerus i always thought this was a very underrated game, along with Spelunx. it's lighthearted, and has a goofy sense of humour.

@MichaelKlamerus Such a delightful game. I can't wait to introduce all three of Cyan's children's adventures to my daughter when she gets older.

@MichaelKlamerus My kids love The Manhole. I wish they could enjoy it in Hypercard (with ResEdit!) the way I did, but the iPad version is a pretty good translation.
